How does your work contribute to OKWU’s mission?

My work at Oklahoma Wesleyan University directly supports the mission of developing students through a transformative education grounded in biblical principles.  As a Soccer Coach Assistant, I mentor student athletes, not only in their athletic and academic pursuits, but also in their spiritual growth.  In the classroom, I strive to create an environment where character, discipline and teamwork are cultivated daily.  In the Safety Office, by fostering excellence, integrity and servant leadership, I aim to help students become well-rounded individuals who will impact the world for Christ around them.

How do you integrate faith into your teaching or daily work?

I integrate faith into my daily work by modeling Christ-like leadership.  I encourage students to see their talents as gifts from God and challenge them to honor Him through discipline, humility and teamwork.

What makes OKWU a special place to you?

OKWU is special to me because it’s more than just a university – it’s a community rooted in faith, purpose and genuine care for one another.  Over the years, I’ve seen lives transformed here, including my own.

What advice would you give to a prospective student?

Be open to growth – academically, spiritually, and personally.  Embrace the community around ou, because OKWU is a place where people truly care and want to see you succeed.  Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, ask questions, build relationships and get involved.  Most importantly, keep Christ at the center of your journey.
