Mike Hood
Mike Hood joins OKWU after more than 20 years working at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. He was LeTourneau’s Vice President for Finance and Administration since 2011.
“Mike Hood has an obvious love for Jesus and others,” said President Jim Dunn. “His mission fit with OKWU and his vast experience in Christian higher education made him a standout candidate.
Hood is an alumnus of Kansas State University, where he earned a B.S. in Accounting. He went on to earn his MBA from Wichita State University.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to join in the work the Lord is doing at OKWU,” Hood said.
Prior to joining LeTourneau’s staff in 2003, Hood spent time as a faculty member and worked in various roles for several nonprofit organizations.
Hood and his wife, Amy, have seven children, including four they adopted from China.
The announcement of Hood’s hiring ends a nationwide search that lasted three months. Though Hood will not officially begin his role until April, he will be a guest at the upcoming Board of Trustees meetings.
“We are delighted that he senses God’s call to join Team OKWU and look forward to many years of teamwork in advancing the Kingdom of God through this outstanding university,” Dunn concluded.
