What if we told you that your purpose is simpler and more powerful than you ever imagined?
This year at Oklahoma Wesleyan, we’re leaning into the truth that we are made to live, love, and lead like Jesus.
The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Philippians, invites us to follow Jesus’ example in every aspect of our lives. Jesus, “who, being in very nature God” (Philippians 2:6), showed us the ultimate way to live—by serving others. He made it clear in the Gospels that He came not to be served, but to serve (Matthew 20:28; Mark 10:45; John 13:1-17). As those made in the very image of God (Genesis 1:27), we are called to mirror this life of service by following the example of Christ in all ways, in all things, at all times.
This isn’t just a good idea—it’s our calling. We weren’t made for self-centered pursuits; we were made for something infinitely bigger—to live, love, and lead like Jesus.
Our theme, Made For This, reminds us that each of us was created for a higher purpose—servant leadership. This year, we’re setting out to rediscover what it means to walk in the ways of Jesus. It’s about understanding who He is and how His life shapes the way we live, love, and lead.
Let’s take this journey together, learning how to reflect Jesus more fully in our everyday lives. We are made for this—let’s live it out, one step at a time.
