OKLAHOMA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY

Everything we do is about our mission – to develop and send servant leaders to advance the Kingdom of God.

As we reflect on some of the milestones from the past year, we’re reminded of the importance of our mission! Here are some of the amazing highlights from 2023-24.

2024 Impact Report

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
ATHLETICS

OKWU Athletics remains a vital part of the campus experience for our students. This season, we saw outstanding success, as our teams won 9 KCAC Championships, produced 8 NAIA All-Americans, and sent 5 teams to the national tournament. OKWU Volleyball punched their ticket to the NAIA Tournament for the first time in school history, while men’s and women’s soccer, men’s basketball, and baseball each earned NAIA berths to cap off strong seasons. OKWU’s individual sports continued to excel, with members of the track and wrestling teams earning spots at their national tournaments.

ACADEMICS

OKWU made history by awarding its first doctoral degrees at December’s Commencement, as the inaugural graduates of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program received their diplomas. With over 150 graduates in our Fall and Spring ceremonies, we also announced leadership changes in the School of Health and Sciences, reflecting our ongoing commitment to academic innovation.

NOW CAMPAIGN

As we approach the second anniversary of the NOW Campaign—we continue to secure OKWU’s future with a goal of $68 million by 2030. This campaign focuses on enhancing athletics facilities, campus improvements, and increasing our endowment. Significant progress includes the fully funded renovation of Wesley Hall, already underway this summer, and the dedication of the newly renovated Mission Lodge at OKWU, a guest house and retreat center. Would you consider a pledge or gift towards a project to support a vibrant Christian institution for the next generation?

SPIRITUAL LIFE

Across campus, God has changed hearts and lives among our students through chapels, dorm Bible studies, and team devotions. Our students exhibited generosity by serving in the local community and donating to ministries in Bartlesville as part of Sanctity of Human Life Month. We celebrate the students making a public confession of their faith through baptism this year.

We look forward to another impactful year as our students return this fall, believing even greater things are on the horizon for OKWU.
