Successful admission and continued student status in an OKWU graduate program

 

Function of Job:

The Doc Lacy’s Graduate Assistant oversees the day-to-day operations of the coffee shop. This includes working collaboratively with all Doc Lacy’s Graduate Assistants and the Doc Lacy’s Staff Liaison as well as supervision of work study students, coordinating schedules, monitoring inventory and communicating with vendors, placing orders, and communicating with their supervisor.

 

Qualifications and Criteria for appointment:

  • Customer service-oriented mindset
  • Pro-active in spotting problems and solving them
  • Good communication skills with all levels of the university
  • Ensure food safety standards are followed
  • Leads and models the Christ centered values of Oklahoma Wesleyan University

 

Examples of work performed:

  • Creating a weekly schedule and monitoring work studies hours
  • Making the daily deposit and running any necessary reports
  • Taking inventory, placing orders for low stock, and grocery runs
  • Overseeing the work studies are doing their jobs at the expected standard
  • Ensuring Doc Lacy’s standards, guidelines, and procedures are followed
  • Communicating with supervisor for any major concerns
  • Address minor disciplinary issues with work studies, proactive communication with supervisor for concerts
  • Making drinks and food for customers
  • Running the register including taking money and placing orders
  • Regular cleaning and daily tasks
  • Training of new hires in all areas; customer services, running the register, placing orders, making coffee, daily cleaning, food prep, and food handling safety
  • Overseeing catering orders on campus and delivering coffee setups
  • Other duties as assigned by Staff Liaison or VP for Business Affairs

 

Other University Duties:

  • Operate Doc Lacy’s during Winter and Spring Commencement events
  • Work university-wide special events when called upon by the Office of the President or Business Affairs
