Graduation Schedule
Friday December 13
4 PM: Department of Nursing Pinning Ceremony (Bartlesville First Church of the Nazarene – 3650 SE Adams Blvd. Bartlesville, OK 74006) Google Map location
The OKWU Nursing Pinning Ceremony is a commissioning service for Nursing students to share with their families, friends, and colleagues as they celebrate their educational achievements and earn their BSN, RN-BSN, MSN or DNP, respectively. This distinguished occasion is marked by the blessing of the hands in which our graduates are anointed to be the hands and feet of Jesus as they enter the next phase of their careers.
7 PM: Celebration Service at Chapel Fine Arts Center
The OKWU Celebration Service includes worship, communion, and award recognition to celebrate the successes of our student graduates. We encourage all our graduates and their families to attend this wonderful celebration, worshipping with us one final time!
Saturday December 14
10:30 AM: Commencement Ceremony at Chapel Fine Arts Center
The OKWU Commencement Ceremony includes the ceremonial diploma conferral for our graduates in front of family and friends.
9:15 AM: Student Check-In (Lyon Hall entrance-east circle drive)
9:30 AM: Auditorium doors open for guests
10:30 AM: Commencement Ceremony
Immediately following the commencement ceremony, graduates will recess to the lower west patio and open area outside the lower west double doors of the Chapel Fine Arts Center (if inclement weather arises, we will recess to the chapel foyer). Families and friends can gather with graduates and faculty for picture opportunities and fellowship time.
Photography
University photographers will be present at our upcoming graduation ceremony to capture the day’s joyous moments. Due to logistical constraints, they may only capture some individual hooding and handshake moments for some. Please cherish these significant moments as they unfold.
While photographers aim to capture various celebration images, we encourage you and your families to take personal photos of any desired memories. Please do not approach the stage or front area of the chapel, as we need that space for our graduates, faculty, and staff members.
Graduates can arrange for photographers outside the chapel for pre- or post-ceremony images on our scenic campus.
Thank you for understanding. We are extremely excited to celebrate this momentous occasion with you!
