CROSS Training Program

CROSS Training is an online ordination program for The Wesleyan Church.

CROSS Training is a proven online training ground for pastors and has faithfully served The Wesleyan Church for over 12 years. By participating in CROSS Training, leaders benefit from a comprehensive, accessible, and cost-effective pathway toward ordination within The Wesleyan Church.

One of the significant advantages of CROSS Training is its ability to fulfill all academic requirements for ordination set forth by the Educational Ministry Department of The Wesleyan Church. Our carefully designed courses cater to leaders seeking ordination in our world today. Moreover, to maximize convenience for busy leaders, CROSS Training is offered 100% online and completely a-synchronous, allowing participants to build competencies at their own pace and location flexibly.

At the forefront of our considerations is affordability. We understand the financial constraints that aspiring ministers face, which is why we are proud to offer CROSS Training as the least expensive option for fulfilling all academic course requirements for ordination. Priced at only $180 per class, this program provides exceptional value without compromising quality.

Cost and Course Credit

Each CROSS Training class costs $180 and is considered a non-credit Continuing Education Class. While each CROSS Training class will count towards your ordination in The Wesleyan Church, you will not be able to receive college credit. If you would like to receive college credit or a college degree in ministry, consider our Ministry and Leadership Program, which is also offered fully online.

Duration

CROSS Training classes run Monday through Sunday. Most classes are three weeks long. Pastoral training classes will incorporate discussion boards, handouts, videos, links, and other materials to help you achieve the course objectives. All course work will be completed during your training program according to the course schedule. There is no pre- or post-course work. You will receive a letter grade for every class and you must successfully pass a course, earning a C or better, in order to be counted towards the ordination requirement.

As someone coming into the Wesleyan tradition with outside ministry education and experience, Cross Training was an invaluable part of helping me become connected with the theology, ministry approach, and people in The Wesleyan Church.

I am not sure I would have finished ordination without the encouragement of professors in CROSS Training. If God calls you into ministry or wants to learn more in-depth about His word, I could think of no better place than OKWU’s CROSS Training.
